Trogir is a historic port city in Croatia located on the Adriatic Sea with 13,192 inhabitants estimated in 2011 (Wikipedia). In connection with the Second World War, Trogir was occupied by Italy from 1941 -1943. From 1943-1944 the area came under occupation by Germany. After the war, Trogir became part of Yugoslavia until the country was dissolved in 1991. Trogir then became part of Croatia. Trogir’s town center was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997, as an example of a town that has retained its overall plan over a long period of time (Wikipedia; Google translated).

We were on a week’s family holiday in Trogir in 2015. We stayed in a great, spacious and well-equipped house with a swimming pool that was high above the town with a beautiful view. We had all the facilities, including a beautiful garden, conservatory and outdoor barbecue. It was a cozy town with lovely beaches with, among other things, a bathing castle which was popular with the children, outdoor restaurants with lovely food and drink, a good atmosphere and hospitality, as well as walking along the promenade by the sea and the marina. We were particularly pleased with the outdoor restaurant Kaleta, where we ate several times because of the lovely food, drink and service we received. From the port in Trogir we also took a boat to Split and were there for a day visit. We would love to return to Trogir, which is a very cozy town – and a trip there is recommended.

I forbindelse med den andre verdenskrig ble Trogir okkupert av Italia fra 1941 -1943. Fra 1943- 1944 kom området under okkupasjon av Tyskland. Etter krigen ble Trogir en del av Jugoslavia fram til landet ble oppløst i 1991. Trogir ble etter det en del av Kroatia. Trogirs bymidte ble opptatt på UNESCO’s verdensarvliste i 1997, som et eksempel på en by som har beholdt sin overordnede plan over en lang årrekke (Wikipedia).

Vi var på en ukes familieferie i Trogir i 2015. Vi bodde i et flott, innholdsrikt og velutstyrt hus med svømmebasseng som lå i høyden over byen med vakker utsikt. Her hadde vi alle fasiliteter med blant annet en vakker hage, utestue og utegrill. Det var en koselig by med nydelige strender med blant annet badeslott som var populært til barna, uterestauranter med nydelig mat og drikke, en god atmosfære og gjestfrihet, samt vandre langs promenaden ved sjøen og båthavna. Særlig fornøyd var vi med uterestauranten Kaleta hvor vi spiste flere ganger på grunn av den nydelige maten, drikken og servicen vi fikk. Fra havnen i Trogir tok vi også båt inn til Split og var der på et dagsbesøk. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake til Trogir som er en veldig koselig by – og en reise dit anbefales.
