Tauranga, population 120,000 in 2010 (Wikipedia), is the largest city in the Bay of Plenty on the east coast of the North Island. The city has a mild and dry climate due to its location, and is a popular place for retirees to settle. Tauranga is also a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and water sports enthusiasts, as there are activities such as surfing, rafting, hiking, golf, theme parks or you can swim with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty and more. Tauranga was an exciting city that we would have liked to explore more, but the time was too short for us as we were only there for one day.
