The world-famous Harvard University, founded in 1636, is located on the other side of the Charles River. We visited Boston as one of the destinations in connection with a transatlantic cruise that went from Southampton, England to Miami, Florida in 2017. We had a day in Boston, but we did not join the sightseeing tours organized by the cruise company, so we only did a small tour on land.
