Las Vegas is the largest city in the state of Nevada, and had 632,912 inhabitants in 2016. Just south of the city limits is the «Las Vegas Strip», which is known for its many replica buildings such as smaller models of, among others, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty and more. The hotel «The Venetian» is designed after inspiration from the Italian city of Venice. We were in Las Vegas in 2012 and stayed at the hotel «The Venetian», which was opened in 1999 and has 4,049 rooms. It was a wonderful hotel with a variety of restaurants, shops, casino, nightclub, swimming pool, spa, Madam Taussaud’s Las Vegas wax museum and the Guggenheim museum. In the facility, sights from Venice such as the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square have been recreated. Furthermore, there is a network of Venetian canals, including on the hotel’s second floor, where it is possible to be transported around in original gondolas with gondola drivers singing «O Sole Mio» – under an artificial sky. Along the canals there were restaurants and shops which made it all a spectacular experience we never will forget. We recommend experiencing «The Venetian» when in Las Vegas. We also visited the Bellagio Hotel with its wonderful fountains which are synchronized with a changing playlist and light show – a wonderful spectacle.
