Cochin is a port city located in southeastern India. The city was the first European colony in India, and for many years has been an important trading city with various peoples from far and near. This has resulted in a mixed culture with exciting historic buildings and sights in beautiful tropical surroundings. In 2018, we were on a cruise from Abu Dhabi to Singapore, and in that connection Cochin was one of the destinations on the trip. The cruise company organized a sightseeing tour in Cochin which we attended. Among other things, we visited a fish market where we got to see how the locals fished with Chinese fishing nets, visited a beautiful church and restaurants and more.
