Blenheim, with its 29,292 inhabitants in 2013, is the largest city and administrative center in the Marlborough region of the South Island – as well as a central area for New Zealand’s wine industry. (Wikipedia). We were met by family in Picton and driven by car to Blenheim where we did a wine tasting at the «Wither Hills» winery. We also visited the wonderful warplane museum «Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre». The museum has a rare collection of aircraft from the 1st and 2nd World War which, with creative display techniques, presents a strong experience of the stories of the men and women behind the machines. It was all incredibly beautifully staged and a visit there is absolutely recommended. We finished with a lovely lunch with wine at the winery «Allan Scott Wines and Estates LTD».

Vi ble møtt av familie i Picton og ble kjørt i bil til Blenheim hvor vi var på vinsmaking på vingården «Wither Hills». Vi besøkte også det fantastiske krigsflymuseet «Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre». Museet har en sjelden samling av fly fra 1. og 2. verdenskrig som med kreative visningsteknikker presenterer en sterk opplevelse av historiene til mennene og kvinnene bak maskinene. Det hele var utrolig flott iscenesatt og besøk dit anbefales absolutt. Vi avsluttet med en nydelig lunch med vin på vingården «Allan Scott Wines and Estates LTD».
