The Azores are an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean belonging to Portugal. The Azores consist of nine larger and some smaller islands. The capital of the Azores is Ponta Delgada, which had 68,809 inhabitants calculated in 2011. Ponta Delgada has the archipelago’s largest port and is a leading trading town with exports of fruit, vegetables, tea, grain and wine and more. (Wikipedia; Google translated).

We were on a transatlantic cruise from Miami, Florida in the USA to Southampton in England with friends in 2014. One of the destinations on the trip was Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Ponta Delgada was an interesting and beautiful city, and it was an experience for us to get there. We would love to go back there again.
